There are almost as many ways to manage conflict as there are types of conflicts. This is not a ‘one size fits all’ practice. Once I learn about your situation and your goals, a road map to move forward will be developed especially for you. So, don’t worry about where you fit in, or identifying which services you think you need. Together, we can determine which approach would be best.

Facilitated Dialogue

Though you will ultimately have the conversation. I can help you have it more effectively.  I work with the parties to prepare for the conversation by addressing needs, underlying interests, phrasing, language and intentions. We engage in exercises designed to empower you to manage your emotions and optimize your listening skills.  I help you identify and articulate your needs, whether in your relationship, family, workplace or community. Together, we strategize on the most effective, useful methods of communicating within the cultural context you are operating in. The facilitation style can range from very formal to more loosely structured processes designed to meet your unique situation.

Mediation

My role as a mediator in workplace mediation or personal mediation  is to help people get from one side of a conflict to the other. Listening, both mine and yours, is key in this process. Collaboration and compromise generally play large roles in mediation processes. I listen to people’s needs and help them express those to one another with the goal of developing a solution that is palatable for both. This way people can move forward.

Coaching

Individual coaching is about listening to learn needs and goals and then helping get people where they need to be. I engage with people in a way that helps them identify and recognize their own needs. We make a plan and work toward their goals together. I coach people to navigate their workplace environment or help people navigate personal issues.

Facilitation (Large and Small Group)

Regardless of the size of your group, facilitation can be used to support you as you define and pursue your goals and objectives. Each facilitation can be customized for the outcome we are looking to generate. With facilitation, we are able to draw from the wisdom and experience of everyone in the space.

Elder Mediation

As our loved ones age and their capabilities slowly decline, we can be faced with a multitude of  challenges. I help families have the conversations, make plans, and collaborate on the sharing of responsibilities, all while keeping the wishes and dignity of their loved ones first and foremost.  Elder Mediation is one of the dispute resolution processes where neutrality takes a back seat to the holistic level of care needed for the individual and the family unit. Yes, mapping out a care plan is important, but so is ensuring the utmost quality of life and supporting families in re-building and strengthening relationships.

Eldercaring Coordination

This generally court-ordered, multi-year framework guides high-conflict families to share in the financial, healthcare, daily living and emotional responsibilities necessary for the care of your loved ones. I keep track and monitor the process with the goal of building positive experiences in communicating and collaborating for the family members. This allows them to draw strength from one another, learn better forms of communication and, build on positive experiences while  participating in the plan development and execution. Whether you feel your family situation is outside your scope of experience or it has been court mandated, I can help support you and your loved ones in this process.
